Neptune and moon Triton moving against the background stars

Neptune is the eighth and most distant planet from the Sun in our solar system. Known for its striking blue color, Neptune is classified as an ice giant and has faint rings composed mainly of dust particles and ice.

Discovered in 1846, Neptune completes an orbit around the Sun every 164.8 Earth years. Its atmosphere consists primarily of hydrogen, helium, and methane, which gives the planet its distinctive blue ppearance.

Neptune's largest moon is Triton.

These two Seestar images taken a few days apart show Neptune moving against the background stars. Just barely visible next to Neptune is it's moon Triton. (click to enlarge image)
