IC 342, often called the Hidden Galaxy, is a nearby spiral galaxy located in the constellation Camelopardalis, lying close to the plane of the Milky Way and heavily obscured by interstellar dust in our own Galaxy, which makes it difficult to observe in visible light and gives rise to its nickname.
